Yes, we only use human-grade ingredients!

Our Treats and Toppers should be stored in an airtight container/ package at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This is to maintain their optimal taste and texture. There's no need to store them in the fridge or freezer! (although some people like to store in fridge, but the freezer would be prohibitive)

Our treats are nutrient-rich and if you give them too many treats it may affect their tummy. Each pets’ journey is different, so make sure not to give into your puppy begging for just one more and keep an eye on their poos. Always ensure they have access to fresh water.

We generally recommend our treats for adult dogs or puppies that over 10kg (or over 6 months old) as they are so nutrient-dense.

FISHTASTIC treats & toppers nourish seniors with natural nutrients to help them thrive in the older years. For example, FISHTASTIC Seaside Blend has a high omega 3 – omega 6 ratio, which helps lower chronic inflammation and could help reduce risk of many later-onset diseases such as cancer and arthritis. There’s no need for our pets to act their age! For a senior citizen, it’s essential to maintain their correct body weight to help prevent diseases such as arthritis.

Our treats and toppers are crafted primarily for dogs. However, always check the product description and consult with your veterinarian to ensure the treat is appropriate for your specific pet.

Treats should make up no more than 10% of a dog’s daily calories. There is a feeding guide on the back of each pack to help you determine the approximate amount. Always ensure they have access to fresh water.

FISHTASTIC is Aussie-owned, run and packaged. All our products are sourced right here in Victoria and Queensland. Only if we sniff out a better product elsewhere do we travel overseas, because being 100% natural, grain free and additive free is important to us and for our furry friends. FISHTASTIC Treats & Toppers has a super long shelf life (2 years)*, so many people think it must be full of preservatives. This is not the case. FISHTASTIC treats & toppers contain no preservatives, and they don’t need to. The dehydrating process extracts all of the water from the food, leaving a very low moisture content. Also, the ‘water activity’ level in the food falls below the level where any microorganism can live, so it doesn’t go ‘off’. *FISHTASTIC treats and toppers remains fresh in its original packaging for two years and for three months once opened, but we know they will not last that long.

Dogs evolved from carnivores, and their digestive systems are better suited to processing protein and fat from fish than carbohydrates found in grains. Fishtastic avoids using grains like corn and wheat, which are complex carbohydrates that can be difficult for some pets to digest and may contribute to allergies. Absolutely! 100%, Dogs do not digest complex carbohydrates effectively, so we need to avoid giving them wheat, corn and other cereal products/fillers. Lots of dogs (like we humans) are sensitive to gluten, and the continued ingestion of gluten (grains) can lead to chronic health problems in the future.

If your dog eats the silica gel, but only a small amount, this is unlikely to cause any harm to your dog. Silica gel is not toxic to dogs, and most dogs will pass the contents of a packet without any further symptoms. Ingestion of silica gel beads may result in the symptoms of an upset stomach, especially if a large amount is eaten relative to your dog’s size—for instance, if a small dog eats a large packet of silica gel. If this is the case you may see abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea. In rare cases, a blockage within the gut may occur, especially if large quantities of silica gel are consumed and the packet has also been eaten. The blockage may occur anywhere within the gastrointestinal tract, including within the oesophagus, stomach, or intestines. The symptoms of a bowel obstruction are very similar to an upset stomach. Blockages can quickly become life-threatening, so if you suspect a problem, you should contact your vet, who may need to operate on your dog to save their life. Take the following steps 1. Remove them from the gel immediately, so they don’t eat any more. 2. Try to determine how much they’ve consumed. 3. Call your vet, its important to let them know even if your pet looks OK now as they may become poorly later on if left untreated. Don’t try to make them vomit – this could make them worse. Wait until you speak to your vet about a course of treatment. Symptoms to watch out for: - Drooling (if they don’t already do this) - Vomiting - Stomach pain - Diarrhea - Lack of appetite - Lethargy
